St. John's Bay Cargo Pants for Men | Comfort Stretch Collection
Our cargo pants combine classic utility styling with modern stretch comfort. Built from durable cotton canvas with 2% spandex, these pants move with you through your day while maintaining their shape.

We built these St. John's Bay cargo pants from a medium-weight cotton canvas that holds up season after season. The 2% spandex gives you just enough stretch to move comfortably without that loose, worn-out feel some stretch pants develop over time.

Sizing & Fit Guide
Finding Your Size
These cargo pants run true to size with a slightly relaxed fit. We cut them to sit at your natural waist, not low-rise, with enough room in the seat and thigh for all-day comfort without feeling baggy. If you’re between sizes, we recommend sizing down—the stretch fabric will give where you need it.
Waist sizes range from 32 to 44 in one-inch increments, and inseams are available in 30, 32, 34, and 36-inch lengths. The leg opening measures approximately 16 inches on a size 34×32, tapering slightly from knee to hem for a clean silhouette that works with boots or sneakers. For the most accurate fit, we recommend following standard trouser measurement techniques—measure around your natural waistline where you normally wear pants, not at your hip bones.

Pocket Configuration & Storage
Six pockets give you serious carrying capacity. The two front hand pockets are deep enough for your phone, keys, and wallet without items sliding out when you sit. Both back pockets feature button closures to secure contents, and they’re positioned to avoid sitting directly on whatever you’re carrying.
The cargo pockets measure 7 inches deep and 6 inches wide, sized to hold a standard water bottle, small tools, or a folded field notebook. We positioned them slightly forward on the thigh rather than dead-center on the side, which reduces bulk when you sit and keeps loaded pockets from swinging. The button-flap closures lie flat when empty and hold securely when full.

Common Questions About Our Cargo Pants
Our cargo pants are pre-washed during manufacturing to minimize shrinkage. You may see up to half an inch of length reduction after the first wash if you tumble dry on high heat. To prevent this, wash in cold water and tumble dry on low, or hang dry. The waist and hip measurements remain stable because the stretch fibers return to their original shape.
The main difference is the cargo pockets on the thighs and the slightly more relaxed fit through the leg. Our cargo pants use the same comfort stretch waistband and cotton-spandex blend as our chino pants, but they’re cut with a bit more room for movement and utility. If you need extra pocket space and a more casual look, cargo pants are the way to go. For a slimmer, dressier profile, our chinos are a better choice.
Yes, these cargo pants work well for light hiking, camping, and general outdoor activities. The durable cotton canvas resists abrasion from brush and rocks, and the cargo pockets give you space for maps, snacks, or small gear. The stretch fabric allows full range of motion for climbing over obstacles. They’re not waterproof, so for wet conditions you’d want dedicated rain pants, but for dry-weather hiking they perform very well.
Measure from your crotch seam straight down to where you want the hem to hit—typically the top of your shoe. A 30-inch inseam works for most men 5’7″ and under, 32-inch for heights 5’8″ to 6’0″, 34-inch for 6’1″ to 6’3″, and 36-inch for men over 6’3″. If you’re between lengths, order the longer inseam and have them hemmed, or size down if you prefer a slight break at the ankle rather than stacking fabric.
It depends on your office dress code. In relaxed business casual environments where jeans are acceptable, our cargo pants in navy or graphite paired with a button-front shirt and leather shoes can work. For traditional business casual offices that require dress pants, our flat-front chino pants are a safer choice. The cargo pocket styling reads more casual than standard trousers, so check your company’s guidelines first.
The flaps lie flat against the pockets when empty because we use a weighted facing inside each flap. When you load the pockets, the flaps conform to the contents and the metal buttons keep everything secure. We designed the flaps to sit slightly forward rather than straight down, which helps them stay in place when you’re moving and prevents them from catching on chairs or car seats.
These cargo pants are imported and manufactured to our specifications. We maintain strict quality control standards for fabric durability, construction, and fit regardless of production location. Every pair undergoes inspection before shipping to ensure it meets St. John’s Bay standards for stitching, fabric weight, and sizing accuracy.
