St. John’s Bay Denim Jacket | Classic Fit & Timeless Style
Our denim jacket is built for everyday wear and built to last. We start with 100% cotton denim in a medium stonewash finish that only gets better with age. The classic trucker silhouette features a point collar, button-front closure with authentic brass hardware, and two chest pockets with button flaps.

We source heavyweight cotton denim at 12-ounce weight — dense enough to block wind but breathable enough for three-season wear. The medium stonewash treatment softens the fabric and creates natural color variation that hides everyday wear. Every seam is double-stitched with contrast thread that reinforces stress points at the pockets and shoulders.

Sizing & Fit Guide
This jacket follows our classic men’s sizing with a regular fit through the chest and shoulders. Order your usual size for a traditional trucker fit that layers comfortably over shirts and light sweaters. If you plan to wear thick hoodies underneath or prefer extra room, consider sizing up one increment.
How to Measure
Chest: Measure around the fullest part with arms relaxed at your sides. Sleeve: Measure from center back neck to wrist with arm slightly bent. The jacket’s hip-length cut means the hem will land approximately 2 inches below your belt line on most body types. Adjustable waist tabs cinch up to 2 inches on each side.

Care & Maintenance
Machine wash cold with similar colors on a gentle cycle. The stonewash denim is pre-shrunk, but we still recommend tumble drying on low heat to preserve the fit. Remove promptly to minimize wrinkles — the cotton will naturally soften further with each wash cycle.
For the brass buttons, occasional tarnish is normal and considered part of the jacket’s character. If you prefer to maintain the original shine, wipe hardware with a soft cloth after wearing. Avoid bleach and harsh detergents that can strip the stonewash finish. Store on a sturdy hanger to maintain shoulder shape between wears.

Common Questions About Our Denim Jacket
The denim is pre-shrunk during manufacturing, so you should see minimal shrinkage with proper care. We recommend washing in cold water and tumble drying on low heat to maintain the original fit. Most customers report less than one percent shrinkage after the first wash cycle. If you’re between sizes or prefer extra room for layering, ordering one size up provides insurance against any minor shrinkage.
The cotton denim provides some initial water resistance for brief exposure to drizzle or mist, but it’s not a waterproof fabric. Light rain will bead up on the surface for a few minutes before soaking through. For sustained rain or heavy downpours, we recommend layering a waterproof shell over the denim jacket or choosing one of our treated outerwear options designed for wet weather.
Our standard denim jacket features a cotton body lining that adds light warmth suitable for temperatures above 50 degrees. The sherpa-lined version replaces that cotton lining with thick synthetic fleece throughout the body and sleeves, making it better suited for winter wear in the 30-45 degree range. The sherpa version is also slightly bulkier and weighs about eight ounces more than this classic style.
The brass hardware will naturally develop a darker patina over time with regular wear and washing — this is normal and part of the jacket’s aging character. If you prefer to maintain the original bright brass finish, wipe the buttons with a soft dry cloth after each wear to remove oils and moisture. Avoid using metal polish or harsh chemicals, as these can transfer onto the denim fabric and cause discoloration.
The medium stonewash sits right in the middle of the denim color spectrum — not as pale as light wash and not as dark as raw indigo. In natural daylight it appears as a classic mid-blue with subtle fading around seams and stress points from the stonewash process. Indoor lighting can make it look slightly darker. The color will continue to fade gradually with washing, developing more character and variation over time.
We offer free returns and exchanges within sixty days of purchase. If the jacket doesn’t fit as expected, you can exchange it for a different size at no additional cost. Keep the original packaging and hang tags attached for the smoothest exchange process. Most size exchanges ship out within two business days of receiving your return.
The regular fit accommodates light hoodies and thin sweaters comfortably in your true size. For thick hoodies or fleece pullovers, we recommend ordering one size up to ensure adequate room through the chest and shoulders without restricting movement. The adjustable waist tabs help dial in the fit even when sizing up, preventing excess fabric from bunching at the hem.
